With global attention on revising veterinary education to meet contemporary societal needs, this presentation will describe existing and emerging education and training in veterinary curricular and continuing education/professional development programs in N. America, Europe and elsewhere, that focus on ensuring a well-trained aquatic veterinary workforce. It will also introduce and discuss core or Day-1 subject matter requirements needed to adequately provide aquatic veterinary services and Veterinary Board Certification programs that recognize advanced or specialist competency.
