Module 2

There are well documented risk factors for compassion fatigue/secondary trauma including the stage of a person’s career, past life events, personality types and levels of empathy.

The presenter of this module has trained with the International Association of Trauma Professionals and the content is based on the research into secondary trauma/compassion fatigue by Dr Charles Figley. In this module she will explore these risk factors and examine the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue/secondary trauma in detail. She will also discuss the potential long-term effects on the individual if compassion fatigue is not identified and addressed by them and the organisation in which they work.
